Supervisor Appointment

According to the Regulations of the Doctoral School, within 45 days from the commencement of education, the doctoral student shall submit, through the Director of the Doctoral School, to the Doctoral School Programme Council an application for the appointment of a supervisor, supervisors, or a supervisor and an assistant supervisor, under whose guidance they will implement their individual research plan and prepare their doctoral dissertation.

The application (see: Documents for Doctoral Students) should include:

  • the doctoral student’s full name,
  • PESEL number, or if unavailable, the number of another identity document,
  • the proposed supervisor, supervisors, or supervisor and assistant supervisor,
  • the indication of the discipline in which the doctoral dissertation will be prepared.

The application must be accompanied by the written consent of the proposed person or persons to undertake the role of supervisor or assistant supervisor.

The decision on the appointment of the supervisor is made by the Doctoral School Programme Council by secret ballot.
