Doctoral School Programme Council

The Doctoral School Programme Council of the University of Opole is a body that supports the development of the Doctoral School and ensures the high quality of doctoral education. Its activities focus on establishing and monitoring the rules governing the School’s operation, improving the recruitment process, supporting the preparation of doctoral dissertations, and ensuring transparent, high standards of education.

The main objectives of the Programme Council include:

  • developing the Doctoral School in line with the Strategy of the University of Opole,
  • ensuring the high quality of the education process and of the doctoral dissertations being prepared,
  • safeguarding reliable and transparent recruitment procedures,
  • giving opinions on solutions concerning study programmes and the organisation of the School,
  • supporting doctoral students in their academic development.

The tasks of the Programme Council include, among others:

  • giving opinions on amendments to the regulations, recruitment rules, and study programmes,
  • appointing supervisors,
  • giving opinions on the rules for preparing an individual research plan,
  • participating in procedures related to the mid-term evaluation of doctoral students,
  • preparing self-assessment reports for the purposes of evaluating the quality of education.
