Required documents in the admission procedure to the Doctoral School of the University of Opole (2026/2027) 

Admission to the Doctoral School of the University of Opole is carried out exclusively via the Internet Candidates Registration (IRK) system, in accordance with the Resolution of the Senate of the University of Opole on the terms and conditions of admission to the Doctoral School (the Resolution). 

  1. Information on documents in the IRK system

All required application documents are listed in the IRK system once the offer “Doctoral School of the University of Opole” has been selected. After logging in, the candidate: 

  • receives a complete list of documents to be completed and uploaded, 

  • has access to templates of the required certificates and statements. 

The documents should be downloaded from IRK, filled in according to the instructions, and then uploaded back to the system. 

  1. Basic set of documents

In accordance with the admission Resolution and the information published on the University of Opole admission pages, a candidate for the Doctoral School prepares, among others: 

  • a document confirming completion of studies: a master’s / master’s engineer diploma or an equivalent degree, 

  • a curriculum vitae / academic CV, including previous research and academic activity, 

  • a research project (in accordance with the requirements laid down in the Resolution), 

  • a document confirming knowledge of the language in which education at the Doctoral School is conducted, 

  • a written consent of the prospective supervisor (or supervisors), 

  • a photograph, 

  • other certificates and documents indicated in the Resolution. 

  1. Medical certificate:selected disciplines

In accordance with the admission Resolution, a medical certificate is mandatory for candidates applying in disciplines in which the doctoral training programme indicates the possible presence of healthhazardous factors. At the Doctoral School of the University of Opole this applies to the following disciplines: 

  • health sciences, 

  • biological sciences, 

  • chemical sciences, 

  • environmental engineering, mining and energy. 

For candidates applying in the above disciplines: 

  • a referral for occupational health examination will be made available in the IRK system after the candidate has obtained the status “qualified”. 

The medical certificate is issued by an occupational medicine unit after the examination is carried out on the basis of a referral issued by the University of Opole. The examinations are carried out free of charge for candidates qualified in the specified disciplines. 

  1. Where to undergo the examination and obtain the medical certificate

The referral for medical examination may be used at basic occupational medicine units located in the Opole Voivodeship in 2026. 

Below is a list of facilities where candidates may undergo occupational medicine examinations and obtain the required medical certificate free of charge (on the basis of a referral from IRK). 

  1. Candidates with external funding

In accordance with the admission Resolution, the admission procedure also covers candidates whose education costs or doctoral scholarship are financed or cofinanced from external sources (e.g. candidates in the implementation doctorate scheme, candidates with funding from NAWA under the “Zawacka” programme). 

For these candidates it is mandatory to upload to the IRK system a document confirming the external funding, in particular: 

  • a funding agreement (e.g. with the funding institution), 

  • a certificate confirming the granting of funding, 

  • another official document clearly confirming the source and period of funding. 

  1. Candidates:foreign nationals

Candidates who are foreign nationals submit their documents in accordance with the rules laid down in the Resolution and in the IRK system. 

To facilitate the preparation of a complete set of documents for foreign candidates, an additional file with the list of required documents for foreign nationals (“List of documents: foreign candidates”) is made also in the file. 

Foreign candidates are obliged to upload to IRK all documents indicated in this list, in accordance with the instructions provided in the system.
