The tasks of the Doctoral School Program Council include, in particular:
- developing and monitoring the implementation of the development strategy and operating principles of the doctoral school;
- ensuring the high quality of the doctoral education process and doctoral dissertations;
- expressing opinions on changes to the doctoral school regulations;
- expressing opinions on the number of people admitted to the doctoral school and the limits of places allocated to individual disciplines;
- ensuring the high quality of the recruitment process to the doctoral school, in particular expressing opinions on the rules and criteria for recruitment;
- expressing opinions to the Senate on matters relating to education programs;
- appointing a supervisor, supervisors, or a supervisor and an assistant supervisor;
- expressing opinions on guidelines and rules for the preparation of individual research plans for doctoral students;
- evaluating candidates for the committee conducting the mid-term evaluation of doctoral students;
- considering appeals by doctoral students against negative mid-term evaluations;
- developing, in cooperation with the Director, a self-assessment report on the activities of the doctoral school in Polish and English for the purposes of evaluating the quality of education;
- supporting grant activities and the national and international mobility of doctoral students;
- taking care of the social and living conditions of doctoral students.
The composition of the Program Council for the 2024-2028 term was determined by the Rector of the University of Opole on September 6, 2024.
